Medicine Buddha is the great Healing Master, who made the twelve great vows, to clear the cause of disease and illness, and to eliminate all disasters. According to the Medicine Buddha Sutra, those who make offerings of lamps in front of Medicine Buddha will receive blessing of good health, wisdoms and happiness, and be relieved from all sufferings of the sentient world.
Before the new year, many of us will want to seek blessings for ourselves and for our love ones. It can be done by lighting up lamp in the temple to seek for blessings.
